You must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer on your own. If you are age 13 to 15, you may volunteer with an adult, who must also go through the same application process. Children under age 13 may not volunteer at the House, but we encourage them to hold drives or collect items from our Wish List.
Adult Volunteers (18 Years or Older)
The minimum time commitment is three consecutive months. Volunteers agree to come in once a week for a three-hour shift on the same day and shift each week.
Teen Volunteers (Minimum 16 Years/13 accompanied by an adult)
The minimum time commitment is three consecutive months. Volunteers agree to come in once a week for a three-hour shift on the same day and shift each week. Parent or guardian permission is required.
There is no application process for groups who want to come help at the House. We do require that everyone in the group be above age 13. There must be as many adults in a group as teens (13 – 16).
You need to submit two letters of recommendation: one professional reference (e.g., employer, co-worker, professor, teacher) and one personal reference (e.g., neighbor, friend, pastor – no family members.)
Criminal Background Check
You will be asked to agree to a criminal background check.
Court Ordered Community Service
We do not accept volunteers looking to fulfill court ordered community service requirements.
