Group Volunteering
at the Seattle House
Group Requirements
After a two-year pause, it gives us great joy to welcome back volunteers to the House! There is no application process for groups who want to help at the House, except we require that everyone in the group be above age 13, except for Meal Program volunteers who must be a minimum of 16 years old. There must be as many adults in a group as teens. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the House is implementing new safety measures to ensure the well-being of all our visitors, families, and staff. All volunteers must be fully vaccinated and be prepared to show proof of vaccination.
Family Meal Program
The Family Meal Program has turned into a wonderful way for groups of volunteers to support our families. The family Meal Program offers groups of volunteers the opportunity to extend needed support to our families by providing and preparing a meal at the House. or by arranging for the delivery of a boxed meal. Currently, family meals provide food for 150 people. Groups may bring up to 9 volunteers. View our online calendar to see what dates are available. Follow the online instructions to schedule your dinner or boxed meal delivery with our Meal Program Manager [email protected]
Indoor & Outdoor Work Groups
Just like your house, there is always something to be done at our House. With 105 families living here, the Houses need a lot of TLC. The kitchens always need to be cleaned and organized, the floors throughout the house swept and vacuumed and all surfaces need to be dusted and disinfected daily. Weather permitting, the yards need to be weeded, sidewalks swept and bushes trimmed. We can take large or small groups. Any group willing to come in and do whatever it takes is priceless! Host a Benefit Event
Hold an event to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Get a group of friends and coworkers together, collect pledges for a bowling or poker party; host a dinner party or recipe swap, and ask guests to bring donations; make your next birthday or office party a philanthropic event! Cash contributions enable us to offer support to 1100 families each year. Please contact
Food Drive & Necessities Drive
With up to 105 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, the need for nonperishable food has increased enormously. The cost and stress of caring for a very sick child can sometimes make providing the basics difficult. Hold a drive through your work, school or congregation. Go to our website at rmhcseattle.org. We update our list monthly.
