Members of the media interested in conducting interviews or taking photographs of staff, patients, or patients' families must request permission from Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska Public Relations staff. This includes visits to Ronald McDonald House and external shots of the buildings.
Style guidelines
- The name of the charity is: Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska. After first use, it can be abbreviated to: RMHC of Western Washington & Alaska or RMHC.
- Ronald McDonald House® is our primary program. After the first reference, it can be called “the Seattle House” or “the House.” Never call it “Seattle’s House or Seattle’s Ronald McDonald House.”
- Before using a child’s last name, please get approval from RMHC of Western Washington & Alaska – Public Relations at (206) 838-0624
RMHC mission
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska supports seriously ill children and their families. At the Seattle Ronald McDonald House, we provide a “home-away-from-home” to help families through a difficult time. We also provide a van service for families staying in Anchorage while their children receive medical care and a grants program that benefits children’s health-related nonprofits in Western Washington and Alaska.
More about the House
The Seattle Ronald McDonald House provides a caring "home-away-from-home" for families of seriously ill children being treated at Seattle Children's. The House can accommodate 80 families each night and currently is the second largest House in the world, providing more than 28,000 nights of housing to nearly 1,000 families annually. The House is operated and maintained through individual and corporate donations by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska.
