Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska supports seriously ill children and their families. It's something we see every day – children healing while they're surrounded by family. At the Ronald McDonald House®, we may not be able to make the medicine taste better or erase the pain of a much-needed treatment, but we can offer families a place to rest and refresh during a difficult time in a place that feels like home.

What we do

Our House

The Ronald McDonald House in Seattle provides more than 28,000 nights of housing a year for families with children receiving treatment at Seattle Children's Hospital. We primarily serve families from WA, ID, MT, & AK.

Family Meal Program

Our Family Meal Program ensures that families have hot, homemade meals most nights of the week. We are always looking for volunteers to make and serve dinners, host pizza nights, and prepare sack lunches for our families.

Van Service in Alaska

We operate a van service in Alaska that takes families to and from the hospital, grocery stores, pharmacies and more. The van is critical for families who come from outside of Anchorage and it serves over 900 people a year.

Our Most Current Need

Keep our families cozy and warm with a donation of a bedspread! We are replacing all of the covers at the House and need your help.

Comfort & Joy

In addition to meals, we provide families the comforts of home, like a pantry full of donated canned and dry goods; activities like arts and crafts, movie nights, and holiday celebrations; and daily visits with certified therapy dogs.

Hockey Challenge

Mark your calendar for Hockey Challenge 2016 on February 27!

I volunteer at RMHC because you can see the impact that your service has on the families here. Even something as simple as serving a meal of a kid's favorite comfort food allows me to make someone's day.

You walk in to this place, and you're just humbled. I don't know what we would have done without it. It really is home away from home.
